Classy, pictured above, is one of those goats that thinks she is a person. Each goat that we own has a special place on our farm.

Reference Sires

When you are looking to purchase new goats that improve your herd, the best place to start is their genetics. When looking at genetic improvements there are many things that may catch your eye and are related specifically to what you can see, among them are size, straightness of the back, width, head, and the lists goes on and on. Other genetic traits that play a huge part in what we select revolve around health (easy keepers) such as resistance to parasites, feet trimming, foot scald, how quickly they recover from kidding, do they produce good healthy kids, and this list continues on as well. The final thing we look for in genetics is temperment, are they escape artists, friendly, etc.

The goats listed here are for reference purposes only, but are important when looking at the genetic traits that we like that help us to develop our heard.

Magnum or EGGS Ryals Magnum was born on 3/25/1998 and was bred by John and Jackie Edwards of Stephenville Texas. He has 1915 ABGA points. Our current breeding buck ASH Creek Trigger is a Magnum son.

Kaptein was purchased in South Africa from Andrew Jordan and imported by Jurgen Schultz for Codi/PCI. He was really tough in skeleton and expressive in muscle, but what really improved with age was the extreme length, evident in the photos below.

Sasquatch is a product of the first embryos sent directly from South Africa in 1994, and in 1995 Sasquatch became one of the first South African bucks, and was chosen and managed by John Edwards at EGGS Ranch, stevenville, TX, until purchased by Bill and Sylvia Self, Owensville, MO, in June 1999. Sasquatch produced many champions over the years and has three ennobled goats in his down line: a son, EGGStreme *ENNOBLED*, who produced EGGS-Ryals Magnum *ENNOBLED*; a daughter, EGGSpensive, who produced EGGSfile *ENNOBLED*. He passed inspection with flying colors at age five.
